Every panel's display can be selected in the top left corner dropdown menu. **[[https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLwlsjXYLydHkH4n0W0EOzO2tEtY1bBPNA|Tutorial List]]** ==== Compositing ==== Smode composites whatever is present in the **Element Tree** from top (back) to bottom (front). Smode's timeline is used whenever you need to **animate** an item's property. Compositions can be nested inside the **Element Tree** of a composition. When selecting an element, the **Parameter** panel has several tabs, notably the **Generator** tab with parameters on how the element is built and the **Renderer** tab with parameters on how the element is displayed. ==== Viewport ==== The **Viewport** panel can toggle between the 2D view and the 3D view. It's handy to split the viewport in two to have both 2D and 3D views side by side. In the **3D View**, double-clicking in the viewer opens the quad view to choose TOP/FRONT/SIDE or PERSPECTIVE views. Navigation is done by holding down **''ALT''** and left (orbit) middle (pan) and right (zoom) mouse buttons. 2D layers can be rendered in the 3D scene by selecting the **3D Renderer** property in the **Renderer** tab, **Type** option. Renderers can be added by using **''CTRL'' + ''SHIFT'' + ''A''** to create a separate rendering pipeline for an element. When a 2D layer is rendered with the **3D Renderer** you can right click on it in the **Element Tree** and select the option to convert it to a 2D Plane textured with the 2D layer. ==== Animation Banks & Cues ==== Smode has a powerful function enabling the animation of properties on elements by selecting the element and right clicking on it. This creates an animation bank with an animation cue (or appends the animation cue to an existing bank). The cue can be edited to different parameters and function (Speed, Easing curve, etc.) <WRAP tip round 25%>**This is an interesting and powerful feature**</WRAP> ==== 3D Objects ==== Importing 3D Objects works either as a Group (keep constuction hierarchy) or as a reference (one element). Animations based on bones and rigs do not function in Smode. Animations based on Postion/Rotation/Scale should import fine. software/smode.txt Last modified: 2025/06/02 21:23by 127.0.0.1
